What Comes Before Progress?

Please speak a little louder.

Progress is always the second step.

And the first is never credited. It’s raising the flag, pointing out the anomaly and explicitly naming the injustice when no one else will. Intentions don’t matter but the right set of words, and sometimes even noise, could spark much-needed action. You may not be a changemaker but you can always be a conduit for change so don’t ever discount yourself or your opinion. Don’t hold back from participating out of fear or discomfort. The first lonely voice of discontent is absolutely necessary to usher in progress.
